Development and optimization by factorial design of polymeric nanoparticles for simvastatin delivery

Controlled release systems can modify the rate of drugs and direct them to specific sites action, making more effective and/or reducing adverse effects. The objective this study was investigated, poly(β-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) nanospheres improve delivery Simvastatin (SIM). Nanospheres were prepared by emulsion/evaporation technique solvent, varying amount SIM added. quantification performed using a validated high-performance liquid chromatography method. average diameter PDI formulations without lower 250 nm 0.3, respectively. containing 30% showed values 265 0.09, zeta potential -31.8 mV, suggesting predominance repulsive forces that prevent aggregation. In vitro suggest transport occurs diffusion. Morphological analysis demonstrated spherical particles rough surfaces. conclusion, data PHB/PCL are promising SIM.
